Gentle, steady pressure over months
Brackets or aligners apply light pressure so teeth move little by little. Treatment usually takes one to two and a half years, depending on the case.
- Crowded, gappy or protruding teeth, or an underbite.
- A bite that makes chewing awkward or wears teeth down.
- Adults can have braces too, as long as gums and bone are healthy.

Before and after treatment
Do braces hurt?
Teeth can ache for a few days at the start and after each adjustment; it usually settles within two or three days.
How long does it take?
Usually 12 to 30 months. We give you an estimate once we have seen the scans.
What should I do before brackets go on?
Have a scale and any fillings done first, so you start with clean, healthy teeth.
Is there anything to wear afterwards?
Yes, a retainer. Without it, teeth can drift back.
What if a bracket comes off?
